York IA is run by a number of volunteers who look after the interests of our members and provide help and support to anybody in our region who has had or is about to have surgery to remove their colon or have an ileostomy or an internal pouch.

A number of our committee members have also taken and passed the IA Trained Visitor’s Course and regularly offer help and advice to new patients, either face to face or via the telephone or other means (e.g. e-mail).
